submitted by NA - |Recommended: NoIn my 8th month of living here, I was told by my roommate, then by Oaks, that I wasn’t permitted to have anyone besides myself in my apartment. I don’t have big parties, I rarely have a guests, and am very quiet. My guests are non disruptive and stick to my room. My roommate, who is not a student, does not like interacting with people. Oaks is marketed as “student housing” and my roommate isn’t a student and has specific needs due to her antisocial nature that I am expected to abide by which results in my inability to guests. It’s an abnormal ask not to be permitted a single visitor in an apartment as an adult and a 4th year college student.
response from property -Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. It is important to understand that because we do rent by the bed space and spaces are shared, all roommates must agree to allowing visitors over. We always encourage roommates to discuss how often visitors can be over with one another and in accordance to the lease agreement. Again, thank you for taking time to provide us with feedback.
submitted by Mom O. - |Recommended: YesMy daughter had problems with her roommate. Since I am not near, it was nice that she could go to Dawn and Greg in the main office and knowing they were there to help her made me feel so good. Dawn couldn’t have been nicer to my daughter about getting things handled and safe. Thank you Dawn and Greg I will also say if they were given a parking space and have visitor parking also would make it even better. Maintenance also is really good, if there’s a problem they get it fixed in a timely matter
response from property -Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review! This is greatly appreciated. We are happy to hear that your daughter has had a good experience here and with the office staff.
submitted by Bre F. - |Recommended: Nostaff and parking are a complete joke. the parking lot is always flooded with non-residents which forces the residents to have to park in the A lot or “visitors “ lot or park illegally. my car got towed after doing so, and we went to express our concerns to Dawn the assistant manager and she was extremely rude and nasty. talked over me and laughed in my face. i know i’m not going to be parking right outside my apartment but the fact that i have to get escorted to my apartment late at night if i come home past 9 30pm is extremely sad and inconvenient. If management would have shut their mouth for 5 minutes they would have known this but don’t live here
submitted by Charles F. - |Recommended: NoHorrible Parking and staff don't care — The long and the short is my daughter got towed as a tenant do to parking illegally in front of her apartment. The said she could park in a different spot and call for an escort. The issue is students park there that don't live there. Their policy is to tow illegal parking first, which more than likely is a tenant then tow the visitors that should not be there. You pay 20 a month for parking but seems they target tenants first that may be parked illegally and then the others. It is the others that create the issue so tow them first.. 1 you will get a lot of money of that's what you want. 2 it will deter people parking there that don't live there. They say call security for an escort. Again, why not tow those that should not be there Instead let's inconvenience our tenants by being okay they call security and have to sit and wait. Seems like tenants at this place are at the bottom of th3 todum poll.
response from property -Charles - Thank you for your review. We do apologize about the inconvenience of the parking situation and your experience with the office. We cannot, however, guarantee a parking space close to the residents' apartment. We do have an active towing company that makes attempts to remove as many vehicles as possible without a valid University Oaks parking pass. We do send out periodic reminders of these parking policies. We only offer the security escort as one of the alternative ways that the resident may feel safe walking from their vehicle to their apartment late at night. Feel free to contact the leasing office should you have any additional concerns. Thank you. Management.
submitted by Jennah L. - |Recommended: YesMy experience — The staff here are great but parking sucks and the upstairs neighbors are loud. I don't want to walk all the way from that access lot to my apartment after a nine hour shift when its dark cold.
response from property -Hello Jennah,
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. Your feedback is important to us! We do apologize about the parking and neighbor issues. Should the issues with your neighbor continue, feel free to reach out to the leasing office regarding any neighbor issue and we will address them accordingly.

submitted by Jason B. - |Recommended: NoThis apartment complex is dangerous. Tenants pay for parking passes but there are not enough spaces for them all to park. There isn't even enough room in the overflow parking spot because of visitors. Young ladies have to walk long distances in the dark. The front office has instructed residents to contact Kent State Police to escort residents to their apartments. Non-responsive management staff. They rip off their residents requiring a parking pass but there is no assurance of parking in the lot Very disappointed in this complex.
response from property -Hi Jason - We apologize that your experience with us has been disappointing so far. Your feedback is important to us. We truly take matters of resident safety seriously. Aside from the Kent Police, we do have a security service that is also willing to escort any resident to their apartment. We do hope that your experience does improve. As always, feel free to reach out to the leasing office or management to discuss matters further. Thank you.

You have to use guest internet that you have to keep signing in to, meaning I've lost a lot of schoolwork to the internet disconnecting. I may be wrong since I only had normal internet for a short period of time, but I swear the guest internet is slower. I cannot hook my tv, Alexa, gaming systems and other personal devices to the internet, meaning most of the features the devices are meant for are useless. I got a gaming system and a tv for Christmas, both of which have little use without internet.
My overall experience has been positive, but this is making the experience go more and more sour every time I realize I can't do something because of the lack of non-guest internet.
response from property -Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review! We apologize that the internet may be impacting your day-to-day usage. We value this feedback and may seek ways to improve these services for the benefit of all of our residents. Thank you!
